The summary is 
Harry Powell and Phil Evans-Pointless  needs update as newer version is up to 
version 1.6.8 -  the latest copy is at 
ftp://ftp.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/pub/pre/pointless-1.6.8.linux
De-Feng Li- In the log file, Number of batches (1) show that the dataset used 
in Pointless have been scaled. In fact, the input dataset should be not scaled. 
You can try it again.
Charles Ballard-I can reproduce the failure using pointless 1.4.10 (ccp4 
6.1.13).  It, however, runs successfully with pointless 1.5.22 (ccp4-6.2.0). 
1.4.10 is throwing a lot of memory errors, so it is probably a memory problem. 
I would suggest using a more up-to-date pointless.  You can get that either 
from CCP4, or just pointless itself from ftp://mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/pub/pre. ps - 
you will probably get more from the unmerged data
