Zymeworks is seeking a scientist to join our Technology Integration group, a team of scientists with diverse backgrounds from the computational and biological sciences. This interdisciplinary group works with the Molecular simulations, Protein Engineering and Therapeutics R&D groups to ensure optimal usage of our in-house ZymeCAD™ computational platform, contributes to the design of experiments and data analysis, as well as engaging itself to understand their needs and plan for new technology developments. Beyond strong analytical skills, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of protein engineering and drug design using *in silico* approaches. The position reports to the Lead of the Technology Integration team. *Roles and Responsibilities**:* - Ensure the correct functionality and optimal fit-for-purpose of our computational tools. - Provide support in the applications of our computational platform. - Work with our team of protein engineers and therapeutics R&D scientists to create requirements and specifications for new tools to be developed and supported by our team. - Plan, implement, and report validations of state-of-the-art computational tools developed by our team of molecular simulation scientists and software developers. - Maintain and create Standard Operating Procedures for the tools and workflows being employed for in-house research as well as by our CRO’s. - Provide expertise towards the design of experiments and subsequent data analysis. *Qualifications and Requirements:* - PhD in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Chemistry or a related discipline. - Experience in utilizing Molecular Dynamics or Protein Design methods to engineer proteins. - Experience with Python or any other scripting / programming language is required. - Strong skills in Data Analysis with experience in data visualization and informatics. - Experience in protein purification, characterization and other aspects of protein science is required. - Experience with protein assays including UPLC/SEC, DSC, SPR, LC-MS, ELISA, FACS, etc. - Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
