Me too.  Given how Apple mangled the 50pin SCSI connector into a 25pin one,
it is hard to see how they could have been responsible for coming up with it.

NCR was one of the early promoters of SCSI and  produced one of the earliest controller chips, the divison that made the chips changed hands a couple time and ended up with LSI.
