Hello friends, The Kennedy 9800 arrived, packed way better than I was expecting - it looks perfect cosmetically and intact electrically. There are date stamps of February 15, 1984 inside. Perhaps the last manufacturing run or refurb date?
Anyway the supply reel has some slop in it when I mount a tape so I suspect the o-ring has lost some fluff. It looks to be 3.4" in diameter and 0.2" thick. The manual mentions a reel hub maintenance kit but not the contents. Can you recommend a replacement size? Also, for the takeup reel - should I just empty a tape reel of its tape? I have 10, brand-new 8.5" tapes so I'd rather not destroy one if I can avoid it. Unless someone can use the unused tape without a reel?
