Andrew and All...

I think a DVD version would be nice, at least for those wanting "it all" on one disc, but I don't think it would make a very good economical media version to sell or give away as a distro especially when the cost of DVD's are at least four times that of CDR's and I would venture to guess that quite a few people don't have DVD burners even though the cost of those are dropping and I would think this would lead to fewer copies being made.

What I might suggest is a DVD version for those who distribute and or sell OO.o as a "Master" disc to pick and choose separate distributions, languages, etc. from. As for myself I think the Windows distribution is by far the most popular and would be well enough by its self. One argument for this would be; most popular Linux distros all include OO.o anyway.

But... so Alex... how many versions do you think you would be willing to create? ;)

I'd suppport that.
At the moment, we distribute a single CD with both Windows
and Linux installs, English and Estonian languages.
So far, no requests for Solaris or Mac versions.

As I understand, for 2.0 there won't be any seperate localized
versions, but all supported languages will be included in one
installer?

DVD is not very popular here, too - we also sell different Linux
distro discs and the CD versions are much more popular than
DVDs. I guess part of the reason is that people don't quite trust
DVD installs yet...
