Alex, I haven't heard from anyone about this in a week. As I mentioned
before, the files are NOT on STAR DIV and I searched every directory I had
access to. If there is an OOo 2.2.0 ISO in English it isn't anywhere but on
a torrent and I have been unsuccessful with the torrent download. I really
do need this ISO. I have orders for the CD from my web site, but the most
pressing was a free distribution I was planning to do for the teachers and
students of two classes in the elementary school my kids attend as end of
year gifts. The school year ends next Tuesday and I only have the weekend to
download the ISO, burn about forty CDs and package them.

I am just really frustrated that it is this difficult to find an English ISO
of the current release when the German version is so readily available on
every mirror for htp and http downloads. Only older versions such as 2.0.2
and 1.1.4 are available in English. The most frustration part is everyone
seems somewhat unconcerned about it. What to all these other Community
Distributors do, just compile their own? I thought it was best to distribute
a proper or official ISO using the official graphics to try and keep it
consistent and try to maintain the quality of the distribution.

I've been part of this for several years and after 1.1.4 the CDROM
distribution project lost momentum or something. I am not trying to put down
this project but it is rather disappointing that after all these years the
CD-ROM Distribution area of the site is still lacking and somewhat confusing
to find the links and info to actually get set up. I've been here for years
and I still get lost on those pages. There is apparently an OEM project but
little or no activity and no distinction between an OEM distro and a CDROM
distro.

I commented on it over a year ago and except for some minor cosmetic changes
on the web site it is really about the same as it was then.

I have no idea what is going on with the CDROM and OEM projects but there
are opportunities to take both projects and ramp them up. We now have these
opportunities thanks in part to Microsoft, to take advantage of their
position to really push OOo into the market.

I realize the value of this opportunity and want to take advantage of it. We
may never know if or when we will have another chance to grab market share
for OOo from Microsoft Office. This is the time for OOo to have its act
together on all fronts.

Alex, here is what we find on every mirror including the Tier 1 servers.

Index of ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/office/openoffice/contrib/iso
Up to higher level directory
Directory: de 3/30/2007 2:52:00 PM
Directory: en 7/13/2006 12:00:00 AM

Index of ftp://gd.tuwien.ac.at/office/openoffice/contrib/iso/en
Up to higher level directory
File: md5sum.txt 1 KB 5/4/2006 12:00:00 AM
File: ooo_201_allplatforms_20051222_extras.iso 576778 KB 12/22/2005
12:00:00 AM
File: ooo_202_allplatforms_20060504_install.iso 614688 KB
5/4/2006 12:00:00 AM

I searched nearly every directory and subdirectory on most of the mirrors
and a 2.2 en ISO was not there. If you search the de directories you will
find the prooo-box 2,2 ISO in German but if you check the en diretory you
only find the files listed above.

I didn't check every mirror on the list but I did try most of them. It was
an exhaustive search. They may be hiding somewhere but they are not where
you said they were.

Sorry, my eyes are tired from staring at the screen so long. I'm going to
bed.

Rick

As I mentioned in parentheses, the files have been uploaded to Star Div, but
have yet to be placed in the relevant directory. I know Mike has the files
(he was the initial seed for the torrent), so maybe he might have place them
in /contrib/iso/en . Mike?
