Hi Alex,

At the top of the page listing distributors we need to something akin to
warning motorists of a toll road ahead. I do not think that I am
Robinson Crusoe here, but it seems that a lot of the Windows users do
not live on email like we do. OSS has a cultural dependency on email,
but a lot of my inquirers send me an email ordering a Free CD and give
me their snail mail address and then just expect it to arrive.

To every inquirer who contacts me I send a standard email explaining
that D/L is free but CD has a token fee attached. I do not want them to
receive a CD without being aware of this. It could cause some
unpleasantness if they think they have been "ripped off".

But, sometimes it takes weeks for them to get the message. And sometimes
I get an email asking "where is the CD I ordered?" But for which I have
no agreement to proceed.

SHORT version.
Tell they will be up for a token fee determined by their distributor.
Tell them to expect a reply before sending the Disks. Tell them to
monitor their email closely for a day after sending their request.

That should cover it.

Cheers

BTW This Sun deal is just so poetic. Imagine an ad for the opposition
popping up in an update Java message on Windows. Soooo good!
