As a general rule, once you have made the request then you can proceed on the assumption that the permission is granted. AIUI, the email is monitored by only one, possibly two, volunteer(s), and that in between attending to their work and other OO.o responsibilities. I'll have a look around and see if I can find a better alternative email.
