SG driver?

What is the current status of SG driver for 2.2 kernel (2.2.17 in
particular)? 

Is it still a good thing to use SG-2.2.tar.gz from 
ftp://ftp.fokus.gmd.de/pub/unix/cdrecord/alpha/ or is SG driver in 2.2.17
more up to cdrecord taste?

PS: I just compiled cdrtools-1.10a04 and now I get segmentation fault when
I try 'cdrecord -reset'. This was fine with 1.10a02...
