I have my burner on hdc, and my reader on hdd. I just started
erasing a CDRW in the burner, and tried to mount a CDROM in the
reader. The mount command is sitting there frozen now.

It did not return, and the screen is frozen. CTRL-C, CTRL-\ do
not respond.

 7954 tty1 SL 0:00 cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=2 blank=all
 7957 tty2 D 0:00 mount /dev/cdrom

Is this bad? Does cdrecord lock the IDE bus? I've never tried
to access both the reader and writer simultaneously before due to
worries about buffer underruns. Since it is merely blanking an
RW right now though, I figured it sends a command to the drive
and then is done. I figured I could use the CDROM during the
blank. It appears not.

kernel 2.2.14 homegrown no patches.
cdrecord-1.8-2

Any ideas?
