Yes, it does.

Probably wasn't using UDMA.

FWIW I had no end of problems with adaptec scsi cards because they are
REALLY picky about having near-theoretically-perfect cables or they will
silently corrupt your data. Parity isn't a very good protection against
data corruption. Until scsi gets CRC checking, I won't trust it again.
