The original meaning of this subject was that due to firmware bug my LG8080 wrote
almost every
media I tried at 4x, though they were able to be written at 12x or 16x.
A firmware update to version 1.07 solved the problem.
But anyway ... ;-)
Are your source HD and destination CD-RW on the same bus?
I have my both ATA disks on bus 1 and my CD-ROM and CD-RW on bus 2.
I never had any problems like you.
I also read of problems with DMA...?
