In the old days (linux 2.2.x) I could burn 2 cds at a time without any
trouble and I did hundreds of them. Now that I've upgraded to the 2.4
kernels (redhat 7.2 with first the stock 2.4.7 kernel and now 2.4.18)
the start of the second burn interrupts data streaming on the
first. This fails every time I try a second cdrecord.

Is this a know problem?

Is there a work-around?

Configuration details (unchanged for a very long time):

 950 mgz Athlon
 FIC AZ11 mother board
 256 meg ram
Adaptec 2940 Pro Ultra SCSI adapter
  (aic7xxx driver)

No other active devices on the scsi bus, but there is an idle
four CD reader (NAKAMICH Model: MJ-4.8S Rev: 1.04 )
