I'm using Red Hat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.3-12 and have 8 instances of cdrecrod burning all at the same time with no problem. The only thing I do is sleep for a couple seconds after starting each copy. Obviously you need an I/O system capable of handling all the data at once for each burner. I'm running SCSI for all my CD-R and DVD-R drives.
