You will need to ask the vendor of your drive to give you different firmware that supports this media. Progams like cdrecord cannot influence this kind of media incompatibility. The only chance you have is to reduce the write speed, so try cdrecord speed=1 and cdrecord will write with the lowest speed that the firmware of your drive likes to support.
