What about if they all extracted to the name of the final release they 
are a candidate for? It is not really a release candidate if the 
contents of the packages have to change between the candidate and final 
(although perhaps I could write a script which extracts binaries, 
renames the directory, and re-compresses, and there would very little 
risk of breakage).
