Got up at 4AM as usual and its now 58F/9C and I heard last night it would

be cooler and windy up north where I am heading.

Out the big door at 4:39AM and I'm heading to Ogdensburg,N.Y. to take care

of my parents grave and put some flowers in and check out the rest of the

relatives. I'm a week late this year. Always try to get there before

Memorial Day/ Remembrance Day weekend. But I had another surgery just over 2
weeks

ago and had one prior to that by about 7 weeks. I'm still recuperating.

I am screwed for sure now. Two weeks ago, I got another 6 screws, another

metal plate and more cadaver bones in the neck. That added to what the

surgeon did two years ago in the neck, because of herniated discs, now gives
me

a total of 12 screws, two metal plates and two sets of cadaver bones in the

neck.

My only question is, who belongs to these cadaver bones? Inquiring minds

want to know..................

The farther north I go the windier it gets. Now getting off Rt. 81 north on

to Rt. 12 east and there is Canada less than a mile away. Glad to see its

still there, where I last saw it. Its 6:11AM now.

The St Lawrence River is almost black in colour.

Got to Notre Dame cemetery in Ogdensburg at 6:41AM. I already see wind

damage on the family graves. The big old tree that my Uncle Louis planted
when

he was young, and now long dead< my Uncle that is........, gave up one of

its branches in this wind. Its about 8" around and came down on my

grandparents grave and then fell to the side. No damage on the any of the
family

grave stones. That branch must be all of 25' long. Fobare's(Foubert),

Fleming's & Rabetoy(Robitaille) got hit, but no damage. Just missed Heller,
not

to

worry, your family stone is fine Warren.

After putting the flowers in I headed over to McDonalds for a quick coffee.

Now heading out the Ogdensburg/Heuvelton Rd to Heuvelton to visit my one

remaining aunt. Left Heuvelton at 8:40am and heading to the 1st

cemetery..................

By the way, I am seeing lots of trees and large limbs blown down all

through this trip and in just about every cemetery.

As I'm walking along, I remember a short story, ghostly, that took place in

Montreal.........As everyone keeps asking if I have ever seen a ghost in

cemeteries..............Back in the 1600's in New France there were lots of

reports of freakish miracles. One that was kind of grotesque was about the

head of Jean St Pere. This Jean St Pere was one of the original Montrealers,

who came ashore with Maisonneuve in 1642.In October of 1647, Jean was at

work roofing houses. Iroquois suddenly appeared, and he was savagely shot at

and killed. The Iroquois cut off his head and carried it off with them.

Dollier de Casson, Superior of Sulpicians and Montreals first historian,

recorded what happened.

The Iroquois kept hearing the head speak in their native language, even

though St Pere never knew the language while alive. They tried hiding the

head, covering it up, but the head kept speaking to them.< So there is a bit
of

Catholic ghoulish history.

Saw lots of limbs and trees down in most cemeteries throughout the day.

I ended up going across the Tug Hill Plateau from Lowville to reach Rt 81

to get home. The 100's of wind turbines they have up there were really

getting a work out from all the wind in the area. Bet they made lots of free

electricity that day.

I did learn one thing today, my neck aint liking this driving since my

surgery a couple weeks ago. But, on the other hand, all the pain from before

surgery has come back a week after surgery..........who knows, maybe there

will be more surgeries? Something sure is wrong. But, this was my therapy

trip..............

The whole trip was 350 miles.

Got home at 6:15PM.

Gas $37.00

11 more smaller cemeteries out of the way.

6.5 miles walking for the day.

Another great day with the dead.

Best

Bill
