David : I can't respond to your points about Texas politics. I simply don't know much at all about what is going on in your state . Here in Oregon I usually vote Republican since the state Democratic Party is Berkeley North. Other places I have lived its been the other way, where the Republicans have been neo-Neanderthal. What I was trying to say in my metaphors is simply that the Democrats at the national level are really crazy and the Republicans are none-too-swift intellectually. Its not my idea of a choice. :-( This is the candidates, not necessarily staff. Some staff have been whiz bangs, Stephanopoulos and Rove, for example. Very smart, each of them, MUCH smarter than their bosses. Or you could say that Stephanopoulos was sane and Clinton was crazy, Rove was a brain and W was the anti-brain.
