Chris:
Soccer utterly mystifies me. How can anyone get excited about a game with
almost no points scored ? More germane, how can the whole world
get excited about ping pong played with the feet ?

Of course, there is a joke about a Russian who watched an American ( real )
 football game.
"What is all the excitement about ?" he wondered . "Get up, fall down, then
 get up and
fall down again. "

Yeah, but at the end the score is 27 - 14 or maybe even 54 - 38.
True, baseball games can be low scoring, but an average score is more
like 4-3 or 7 - 2. Similarly with hockey, just a little less.

In basketball, which the rest of the world does enjoy, games are typically
in the 89 - 74 range, or sometimes 101 - 95.

So, why does the rest of the world find basketball worthwhile
but simultaneously also like soccer ? Makes no sense to me.

Spoken like a true American! And, nope, I don't have any idea if there is
such a thing as a high scoring game in the World Cup.

Subject: [RC] questions

( 1 ) Does anyone know the percentage of World Cup soccer games

where the score is not 1-0 or 1-1 or 2-1 ? Is it greater than 2 % ?

( 2 ) Does anyone know of a more pointless ( pun intended ) game ?

Just thought I'd ask

Billy
