I find it quite useful for building deb/rpm. What would be useful for the community per se would be if you made a Dockerfile for each type of combination, i.e. Ubuntu trusty / 10.0.3 and so forth. That way anyone could just docker run ceph/compile-ubuntu-trusty-10.0.3 and that would be it. I don’t think that would even be tough to do. I’m unsure how well you can test that it’s not tampered with, but I assume it’s possible to solve, or at least set up trusts between a contributor and the repo.
