Micheal, David,
Thanks for the info. I've had a look at marriot.com for the hotel you've
mentioned but can't find it... Infact the search feature on the site is
pretty useless.
Have either of you got a URL for online booking of the Marriott in
Rockville?
Thanks for the tip on CF_Underground, I'll certainly attend, I'm actually
flying in to Washington on the Friday for a week on the back of a holiday to
Honduras, before jetting back to the UK :-)
Ben.

I think the Marriott is next to the Twinbrook metro which is nine stops on
the redline from Woodley Park-Zoo station that is right next to the
conference hotel. It takes approx 30 minutes and
the last metro runs around midnight. There is a metro map at:
http://www.cfconf.org/cfun2k/NIHmetro.cfm
If you haven't taken the Wash DC metro before it is clean and safe. If you
don't mind a metro trip then any location on the Redline in Maryland and DC
or the orange line in Arlington VA will be
cheaper than the main hotel! There is a searchable website of DC hotels at a
discount at Visit DC:
http://www.visitdc.com/
(Disclaimer: TeraTech has done some programming for them recently, but they
appear to be a good service and they don't charge your credit card - the
hotel does)
If you are on a really low budget then check out the shared rooms at the
Washington International Youth Hostel
Phone: 202-737-2333
Fax: 202-737-1508
1009 - 11th Street, NW Washington, DC 20001
Price: $22-25
Reservations essential: accepted by Mail/Phone/Fax/IBN with credit card
Located in downtown DC where you can take the red line at Metro Center to
The Woodley Park-Zoo.
Also consider coming in on the Saturday, both to save on airfares due to
Saturday stay and to attend CF_Underground on Sunday.
