Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this only apply to servers housed
within the US? If you wanted to circumvent the whole thing, couldn't you
just put your server in another country?
In the UK we've had the Data Protection Act for ages (which was updated a
couple of years ago), and this basically covers the same sort of thing...
but again, move your server outside the country and it doesn't apply...
I'd like to see them enforce it on a server held in Holland, Germany or
Japan (as examples)
