I get met with blank stares just by saying I'm a web developer. So now
I say that I'm a computer programmer. Most people know what that is.
Saying I use ColdFusion is always interesting. Some sample responses:
"That doesn't work you know."
"Oh yeah and Elvis is still alive."
"How does nuclear energy work on the web?" (Imagine the baud rate!)
"*blank stare* That's interesting."
Don't even tell lay people you use Flash; in the wrong crowd you might
get arrested. ;-)
