I'm not convinced there is any such thing as instant death in this fashion.
Back when beheadings were considered "instant death" and the guilotine was
considered a humane form of capital punishment, Antoine Lavoisier, who is
often called the father of modern chemistry because of his role in
determining the role of oxygen and also because of his quantitative approach
to validating chemical interractions, was sentanced to die by the guilotine
durring the French revolution. Being a true scientist, he turned his death
into an experiment. He told a collegue of his that, after his beheading, he
would blink his eyes as many times as possible before he 'died'. He managed
to blink 14 times after his head was severed from his body ...
Something to think about, no?

Not to nit-pick, but how does one totaly drain blood? I would imagine that
some will always stay present in the body, no matter what you do. I don't
know much about butchering animals, but I would think that one couldn't get
all of the residual blood out, completely. I, truely, mean no offense, but
I am curious .. what constitutes "totaly drained"?

True .. but then again, if God wanted us to definately eat meat, God
wouldn't have enabled us to live without doing so ;)
I'm not against eating meat. Actually, I happen to like it [chicken
parmisean .. yum]. I just figure it's our responsilbilty, as the dominant
species on this planet, to prepare animals for consumption in the most
painless, stress-free way possible. We certainly have the means, but
apparently not the desire, often deferring to efficiancy and economics. You
raise me a pig/cow/chicken/whatever that has free run of a farm and a
pleasant life, until it is quickly slaughtered by some means of
_instantaneous death_, and I would be happy to have Bacon/Hamburgers/Chicken
TeaQuilla/whatever .. Otherwise, no thanks :)
