If you'd like to avoid antialiased text, look into "device fonts"... p216

For resources, there are different types for different audiences, and we
never ever fully learn anything anyway... are you looking more for
inspiration from other examples, or an app tutorial, or thoughts on
designing visual presentations, or an intro to clientside scripting, or
something else...? This could help narrow things in, thanks.
