I know, I know: Throw muffins at the Red Sox fans!!
I'm closer to New York actually, and most friends/co-workers are fans of the
Yankees and all NY/NJ teams. Unfortunately I was born a Red Sox fan.
Father's family is Boston-area Irish, so I didn't have the choice myself.
So its part of my heritage I guess to always root for the underdogs or teams
that are cursed to never win.
In Connecticut, there is a good mix of fans for both teams. The rivalry is,
obviously, such that you can't be a fan of both or switch allegiances even
if you wanted to.
Maybe some century they'll get it together. Dare I say the most spoken
phrase in New England: "This could be the year!"
