I enjoyed the movie, I would have liked to seen them follow a few things a
little more closely, like the story line with Patroclus, the changes made
there seemed to be a little useless, I don't see any reason why they didn't
stick to the Iliad for this one.

Its hard to use the gods in a movie like this without it becoming a little
too silly, I didn't mind so much that their role was omitted, but if it were
a complete telling of the Iliad it would be hard to leave them out.

Well, my wife talked me into seeing Troy this weekend.  First off let me
tell you that I was surprised that she wanted to see it, but when
pressed, she said she'd read that Brad Pitt was nude in it several
times.  Aside from that, this is not my wife's kind of movie.  This
genre is usually my type of movie.  Unfortunately, this had to be one of
the most boring movies I've sat through lately.  They took the mythology
slant right out of the story and made anyone who believed in the greek
gods to be viewed as looney.  Achilles wasn't immortal, he was just one
bad a$$ dude.  All the fighting scenes were kind of blurry and quick
camera moves.  They used a lot more armor than I remember being told
they used.....actually, I thought I remember something about the greeks
fighting nude.  Anyway, it seemed like a 2:45 discovery channel show.
Not to dis discovery channel, it's just that you expect something
different from a movie.
