"historically accurate" to the Illiad, but who cares? Most of the Illiad was
long and boring.
As for the armor, it actually wasn't too bad. It was a bit ornate and
looking closely most of it was probably fabricated from plastic. Pretty
common for tv/movie props. But as to whether they actually had that much
metal armor, I think they did. Somewhere I've got a picture of actual armor
from a dig in the area from the period of the early Greek Aegean era and
it's plates of bronze.
Isn't "Aegis" Greek for "protection" or also "armor"?
