Uhhh...hello.
There are International Laws governing crimes such as these, and people who
commit such crimes can be brought to justice before a court of law if they
can be captured.
Aprehending and arresting someone does not necessarily mean firing tomahawk
missiles into 'suspected' locations and populated areas hoping to somehow
magically kill that person, especially without proof that this was not a
concerted act by a country as a whole, but rather a group of individuals.
Last I checked the United States, the UK, THe Israelis, the French..and even
Russia supposedly had a vast network of Intelligence agents,spies, and
counter terrorism task forces at their disposal.
But then again, the American people might not be happy unless they see a few
things blow up somewhere else, and I'm sure that the President knows this.
So..Afghanistan, Bin Laden and the Taliban are as good a target as anywhere
else, and the World probably kept them around for just this purpose. They
make the most beautiful scapegoats.
