what's the definition of a medical emergency? That's the rub. I had two pregnancies that each posed a serious risk to my health. I elected to continue them, and came away with no permanent consequences. But it was my decision and had it been otherwise it would have been due to my decision. Makes all the difference in the world. I would be very much against some panel telling women oh no, you have to continue this pregnancy because bla bla is not a serious enough risk to your health.
