While you're setting the addition to slave, you may also have to set the
existing one to master.  This is, IMHO, more reliable than cable select.
  If you don't know what that means, don't worry about it too much.

The power cable is right next to that ribbon cable.  Remember:  the red
wire on the power cable goes right next to the red or pink stripe on the
ribbon cable.  I am, here, assuming this is a standard IDE drive, btw.

This is pretty much the second easiest upgrade after adding RAM.

I swear!  I had nothing to do with it!  I never touched your drive!

Also, if you drive grinds, while it's not a sign of Me, it is a sign of
a drive-failure-to-be.  By the way -- if the drive in the enclosure
dies, do not discard this thing.  You can replace the drives in these
pretty easily.  It's just like replacing the one on the inside of your
computer.
