So as a general rule (if there is one) what is the list of browsers that one
should test a site in?

No.  Konquerer, which is the open source project Safari decends from, is
available on Linux.  Also, Lynx, Mozilla (which is where Netscape
decends from), Firefox (another Mozilla descendent), and numerous others
are available for Linux.  IIRC, Opera is also available, but someone
should check me on that.

Just for future reference, if it's by MS, it's generally not available
on Linux.  It's a matter of principal (or lack thereof) for them.
