I am not sure that Moore supports the insurgents as much as he
portrays them as people, which is something lacking from the US
nightly news. There are some wrenching discussions of little girls
with their noses blown off and trying to dig out the severed bottom
half of a young girl from under a pile of rubble. A man loading a
dead child into the back of a pickup truck asks what harm this baby
did to the United States. I suppose he implies that all of this is
unnecessary, but it is on the American casualties that he really comes
across with a sledgehammer or maybe a battering ram :) Iraqi
people=good is just not a major theme of the movie.
Me I agree with the George Bush quote: "They aren't happy about being
occupied. I wouldn't be happy if my country was occupied either."
