and the fact that a war hero would say such a thing.
I do think there needs to be an army, though you and I would probaby
disagree on the definition of what is necessary.

God I hate this new deal welfare state reasoning. The common defense is one
of the few reasons I see to allow federal taxation. This nation was built
around not only the idea of individual rights, but individual responsibility
as well. Starting with Lincoln's destruction of states rights and moving
into the post depression era NRA policies (based on Fascist Italy's by the
way) we have made a reasonably steady move towards centrally controlled
economics.
