Well for one I am probably the last person on this list that could ever be
called left or liberal. I am an activated infantryman in the 29th infantry
division. I was a republican for years, until the hypocrisy made me look
elsewhere. Now I am a libertarian. In many things I am probably further to
the right than you are. I am a project manager and security analyst for
Diplomatic Security at the U.S. Department of State. I hold a pretty high
clearance, in a reasonably sensitive position.
I have been writing code in one form or another since 4th grade, that's like
20 years now. I have done community work, taught, been published, spoken at
security conferences, and been elected to an international standards body
(or so my resume says). Now I would like to know what any of that has to do
with the argument about whether or not bush is a good president.
Before you label me you might want to check your facts. Facts are the
reason that I said what I did. I went back and looked at your comments and
saw them lacking in verifiable details. Larry and Dana and I will often
argue about policies and ethics. We disagree on many many things. However
I have found that they both will either be open to new ideas, or have
verifiable facts to back up their opinions. We do not generally resort to
name calling and insulting each other to try and prove some obscure point.
I have seen you do that.
Finally, I am about to leave to fight in one of the wars you're so proud of.
I have been defending this nation in one form or another for the past 7
years. I have spent time in the 82nd Airborne Division and E co 629 MI
(LRSD, Airborne) a special operations human intelligence unit. I know what
the end result of failed national policy is. I do not lightly express my
support for any conflict. I supported the invasion of Iraq, just not for
the stated reasons. I think that oil is of vital national interest, and I
think that Sadaam's force broke the cease fire many times. Those are good
enough reasons to invade for me. However I think it is unconscionable how
this administration went in front of it's citizens (I could give two shits
about the U.N.) and told what they knew to be lies. I work for Secretary
Powell. I used to Idolize the man, and I personally can no longer stomach
him after he allowed his dignity and respect, earned out on the sharp end,
to be used to snow the people of this great nation. I will temper my
feelings some what in how Browne and Root is portrayed. I know personally
that there are not other companies that can provide the same level of
excellence in combat service and support, freeing up troops for the fight.
I have dealt with them in many countries, on three continents. They are
hands down the best. This still does not excuse them price gouging and even
defrauding the government and by proxy the American people.
Sam, I am sorry if I put you off too easy. I had read the comments of the
other members of this list and found some very well reasoned arguments and
figured that if they were unable to sway you, or at least challenge you to
bring forth your evidence of greatness, that I would be equally impotent in
the face of your vitriolic and oft times pedestrian attacks.
I hope you enjoyed our holiday, I know that I did. If you had read the
comments that were made that day you may have realized that though many of
us do not agree here, we are all American's (*even/especially our immigrant
friends, well except gel and some of those pesky foreigners) and all of our
opinions matter.

The hypocrisy is incredible. You liberals constantly
accuse the right of launching personal attacks instead
of confronting the facts. I've presented facts to
counter every rumor of these so called impeachable
offenses and no one has disputed them.
Now you're the fourth liberal on this list to attack
me personally. You seem so proud of yourself too, as
if you do this every time someone interrupts your hate
speech with facts. Make fun of him and call him names
until he goes away. If I was 12 years old it might
upset me, but I'm not. Actually, the more you attack
me the less value your opinions have to others so keep
them coming. You look foolish not me.
By the way I've been programming professionally with
ColdFusion for over seven years now. I use these lists
all the time. I never posted to cf-community before,
but after seeing so many lies on a daily basis I had
to speak up.
