church blessed same sex unions - around 150 to 200 AD from what I
remember reading. Both the greeks and the Romans had civil ceremonies.
The greeks for instance reserved marriage for procreation and
conserving property within the family/clan. At the time many
considered boys around 12 to 14 years of age to be the height of
desirability.
