I don't know that I agree with the labor camp thing -- and there's a
whole other can of worms about how our prison system is broken -- but
I do agree with the premise that... I don't think a drug user (and
_all_ of us are drug users, except that the government decides which
drugs we're allowed to use, and usually it's about the money not the
drug), should be penalized for using drugs. If a drug user robs,
injures or kills someone(s), that action should be punished in
whatever manner the law sees fit, and their use of drugs should not be
a factor in their trial. I.e. the claim of "temporary insanity" should
not apply to people who knowingly taint themselves with something
that's going to alter their perception. "But I didn't mean to ... blah
blah blah... I didn't know what was happening." ... "Tough shit --
your decision, you get to pay for it."
