Mike, read the ruling again.

The judge just said that random searches WITHOUT A REASON are not allowed.

If the person looks suspicious, they can still search. All normal police procedures are still allowed. The judge just said that going near a protest zone is not reason enough BY ITSELF for the search.

The interesting thing is, the police had already stated that they were not planning such searches because they did not think such searches would help security.
