> you support PETA, you support terrorists like the ALF.
I don't support PETA per se. I do not know enough about them to generate a
like/dislike mentality. What I can explain is my stance a little more
thoroughly. When it comes to eating meat and the meat industry as a whole I
try and buy meat that comes from well treated animals (. By well treated I
mean animals that are kept in good conditions (not being raised in fecal
infested pens chained to walls on 12" chains, etc) while being raised and
prior to slaughter. The fact that animals are killed for food is fine, no
problem with that... I also support using animals for study and research but
only as long as they are treated as humanely as possible; so each
study/research effort might define humanely given the variables of the
study, but as long as everything is done is the most humane way possible
given the environment etc, then I am ok with it...
One of the biggest reasons I am also particular about the meats I eat now is
because of the hormones and nitrates. I try and stick with organic, well fed
animal meat so know what I am ingesting.
Larry, sorry for being reactionary to your response to my post, I just want
to make sure you know my stance and I wanted to clarify my original post
which does sound different depending upon how it is read.
Mike
