If it was a 767-400 it seats 245-303 people. Ok so 303 people on the flight, 14 people standing up is almost 5% of the flight.
That is alot of people to be standing up. Its the way the world is sad but true.
If i was a group that i know is under scrutiny i would be aware of doing things that might make me look like i'm doing something wrong. I would want to stay under the radar.

While I don't know of an attack off the top of my head, there have been
NUMEROUS accounts of Arabs being told to get off of a flight or otherwise
discriminated against. Another important point that is left out of the
original article is that Dearborn, MI (right outside of Detroit, where the
Arabs boarded) has one of the highest Arab-American populations in the
entire country. So it stands to reason that several Arabs may board a flight
there.

If so i've missed it perhaps thats my fault but i don't remember seeing
anything about that.
I guess it makes sense to try to talk to them but when you get the leave the
the fuck alone look you don't bug them. I guess i'd feel the same way
especially after being cordial with someone before getting on the plane.

Now, taking it a bit further.... I _am_ a young(er) man of Middle Eastern
descent. And realistically, I would have been frightened on this
particular
flight. However, I think that I may have tried to strike up conversation
with the men to try and determine if they were in fact a group of some
sort.
My last post was simply trying to point out that it is very dangerous to
just assume that something is wrong because the men fit a profile, and I
am
afraid that there will be situations where people are attacked on a plane
because of the color of their skin. Articles like this one, while chilling
on the surface, will only heighten the chances of something like this
happening. I won't pretend to act like I have any answers, because I do
not.
I just wanted to offer another viewpoint.
