Man, I am so signing you up for "Scare Tactics", and I hope you crap your
pants.

IF this article is non-fiction, and IF she wrote this article with the
utmost journalistic integrity, I would have felt paranoid and overly
helpless in the same situation.  Myself, I tend to believe her.

Is it racial profiling? Probably.  But I've seen Diehard, and if you start
flying around with a shirt that says "I love Muslims!" and you happen to
catch a flight full of actual terrorists, you are going to be the first one
to get your neck slit with a packing knife.  This is a f-ed up world we live
in.  But the fact of the matter is: a group of Middle Eastern men planned
and, more importantly, executed the most devastating and viscous terrorist
attack in the history of America.

Should you swallow a cyanide pill at the first site of two or more
stereotypical [keyword] terrorist men collaborating on a plane? Hell no.
But if I see 14 of them conversing, especially if they boarded separately, I
know my wife is going to have a heart attack, and I wouldn't feel
comfortable until I drive my happy ass back to my house, lock the front
door, and give my 140lb dog a pat on the head and a biljac.

I hate it. But I'm human.

If I were Middle Eastern, I don't think I would have any problem with this
article.  I would understand that one of the largest groups of nut job
fanatics (Al Qaeda, Taliban, etc) out there just happen to share my ethnic
background.  I'd also show up to the airport 30 minutes earlier than I do
now, cooperate with any procedures and then get on with my life.  I don't
mind going out of my way if it would make other people in this world feel a
little more safer.  I have a buddy of Middle Eastern descent, he flies all
the time, and he feels exactly the same way.

No it doesn't give them the right to he hysterical.  That is like saying
every English-person should be afraid of anyone Irish based on the actions
of the IRA.
