A question; would you still require a majority, even with the popular vote?

In 1992, and in 2000, no candidate had a majority of the popular votes.
Would you base the president on a plurality or a majority?

Oh and on a side note, there is no way in hell a Constitutional Amendment
getting rid of the Electoral College would ever pass, it would require of
the state legislature to approve it. There is no way small states will allow
it to pass, and the Senators and Representatives from those states will not
allow it either.

I guess i dont see any difference. Any future problems would be pretty much
handled the same way. The 500+ voting margin in Florida in 2000 gave Bush
Florida's electoral votes. Those represented a MUCH greater percentage of
the 270 needed than the incredibly small margin of victory in the popular
vote would of given him.

The electoral college gave Bush the 2000 election. Without it, Gore wins, by
the popular vote....and thats just the way it should be.
