That's like asking "what if"?  Each circumstance is different and unique and
it's difficult to formulate a "bullet" list of items that would always
result in full support.  Of course any direct, government sanctioned attack
on the United States should be met with force.  "War" however is a sticker
subject.  A terrorist attack on an embassy, for example, should definitely
provoke a forceful response but war is probably unwarranted.

I fully supported the actions in Afghanistan, for example.  There was clear
evidence, backed-up by multiple governments and agencies that the 9/11
attacks were launched from there and that the government were supporting
them.  This was clearly retaliation for the attacks well aimed and carried
out.

Iraq on the other hand had neither clear, well-supported evidence or any
ties to the 9/11 attacks.  It posed no threat to the US and I firmly believe
that the containment policy was the best option.  There are other situation
that pose a much greater humanitarian gain and other governments that pose
clears threats to the US.  Yet we've done comparably nothing in those
situations?

Why Iraq?

So let me ask you guys this, WHEN would you support a war?

At what time is war "right"?

To be fair Howie only misquoted "daddy" vrs "dad" not "this was retribution"
(which was not claimed to be a quote) - the actual misquote really does
nothing to change the meaning of the statement.

The statement, in context, was clearly used to garner support for the war.
Perhaps not the "retribution" that Howie suggests but bringing up history
with a clear, personal motivating factor can definitely lead one in that
direction.

I heard: "after all this is the guy who tried to kill
my dad at one time."

Not: "this was retribution because Saddam "tried to
kill my daddy"

You're in the sand.
