particularly a "comedy" game, but just a game that can add humor well to an
already powerful storyline.
I've just finished "Metal Arms" (cross-platform) and it was great - robots
fighting each other, swearing, farting (tastefully). Some of the events
reminding me of "MDK" which can only be a good thing. The controls took a
lot of getting used to and there were some f*&^#$n difficult areas (one of
which nearly made me give up the game) but it was really something special
and is available at a bargain bin near you (I paid $12 for it used).
The REALLY great thing is that Swinging Ape Studios, the folks that made
"Metal Arms" have been given "Starcraft: Ghost" - I've got nothing but faith
in them after playing Metal Arms.
Two other really great, bargain bin games with good senses of humor are
"Beyond Good and Evil" on PS2 (this game also has an INCREDIBLE soundtrack
and sound design) and "Primal" on PS2 (this is a more serious game, but
there's definitely hilariously lighthearted bits and the voice acting is
completely top-notch).
As for the rumors I really doubt they'll only be making PSP games. A lot of
"boutique" studios have announced that they'll only be making PORTABLE games
for the PSP (in other words no Gameboy games) so could have been where you
heard it. Of course the PSP is so powerful compared to the GBA that game
development time on it will be much closer to the PS2 (in other words much
longer) so some smaller studios may have to focus on PSP titles exclusively
for a while (since they can only dedicate staff to one or two games at a
time).
But still - whatever console it's on I can't wait to see what these guys
come up with next!

I gotta 2nd the Giants: Citizen Kabuto "nomination"...that game was
hilarious. I think it's the last videogame I've played all the way through.
There's so many games out there now, that I normally only have the
time/lack-of-ADD to play for 5-10 hours before I move on. (Fortunately, or
unfortunately, that's not counting XBL games.)
Planet Moon, the developer's of Giants also created Armed & Dangerous,
basically Giants with different characters, for the PC, Xbox, and I think
PS2. Now I heard they are only going to be making PSP games...bah->
