That being said, i don't now, nor do i perceive anytime in the future, North Korea to be a threat to the United States.
As for your last paragraph, i'd argue that America has been perceived as a bully for decades now. And if people vote for a particular candidate, I hope they are worried about weightier things than how we are perceived in France.

offering it for sale as international trade, to raise money with which to feed
its starving populace. You can pretty well bet that when N. Korea is considered
a real threat to the region, China will be the first to put them down. N. Korea
is not currently a threat to the US.

I want to hope and believe that the majority of the American voters do not
wish the US to be the international bully they are currently perceived as, and
will vote their conscience accordingly this November.
