Hi Sam,

If your point is that some people thought Iraq may have WMD/Chem/Bio
you're right -some people did.

This is not enough, however, for any member of the Security Council
(or any other country) to unilaterally invade Iraq.  Like all other
bureaucracies, the UN has a process that must be followed before an
action like this can be taken.

Have you ever try to fire someone in a Union?  You can't just say they
violated 1.4.56 of the contract and fire them.  You have to claim the
violation and then follow the process.  The US didn't follow the
process.

Yes, it takes longer than anyone might like, and it's a hassle, but it
also gives credibility to any single country advocating for 'force of
arms", and therefore secures the World as much as anything can.  It's
not perfect, but it's all we've got; like democracy.

Restated, the US decided to use the UN's information to justify a
non-UN sanctioned action.  That's a no-no.

Have you heard of those people that say US law says they don't have to
pay taxes?  It turns out that the IRS doesn't agree; they're in jail.
And they've got all kinds of law that says they're right.

If your next point is going to be that the US has to ignore UN process
if there's a threat to our country, I'd agree, but nothing you've
posted says there was any threat to the US.  General Anthony Zinni,
the President's Middle East advisor, has said as much and that's since
been confirmed with empirical data.

Finally got it and it's all wrong.

If you read my post the first time I wouldn't have to
repost them.
