They already have the technology and are aiming it at parents wanting to
keep their children safe.
There are watches even that contain the GPS technology that works within
a few feet.
A private news organisation could conceivably pay to implant their
journalists, but then youhave the other side of the coin.
Who else would be able to listen in and see exactly where the
journalists are?
What if Terrorists get a hold of these tracking feeds? Then they know
exactly where several potential targets are.
And then perhaps the game changes from kidnapping to assassination.
Also to some journalists it would be...hee hee..in-conceivable to know
that someone at their news agency knows where
they are at all times. Plus, there are ways to jam GPS receivers, just
as there are ways to jam cell phone signals.
And once implanted....how are you going to get it out? Why take it
out...why not just leave it in until the next time you need to go out on
assignment.
And while you're at it..why don't you implant your child. Your
wife...your loved ones so you always know where they are.
You....your company....and then what happens when the government demands
access to all GPS Location feeds to fight terrorism?
It truly does boggle the mind!

Lets say your a major news organization (or govenment). You have
reporters (or soldiers, etc.) in the field in places where they'll be
kidnapped. You want to stop this or at least be able to track your
people down fast. How much would it cost for some sort of homing beacon
to be planted on (or in) them? How easy would it be for American troops
to hunt down and kill the kidnappers if they had information of this
sort? Why has no one thought of this before? Just knowing the tech out
there last year, I see that this is 1000% possible and it's even easier
today.
It boggles the mind that we're one of the top tech countries in the
world and we aren't using our tech to solve these problems.
