If you want to pay a little bit of mullah, you can go with SageTV (HYPERLINK
"http://www.sage.tv/"http://www.sage.tv/), or you can spend a couple more
bucks and go with beyond tv and a Firefly remote: HYPERLINK
"http://www.snapstream.com/"http://www.snapstream.com/ (Keep your eye on the
site, because they always have different promotions.) I've found SageTV to
be very processor un-intensive, while beyond tv has a better interface and
more features.
I'm currently building a new pc, and am patiently waiting for Microsoft to
release some sort of upgrade for WinXP to Windows Media Center, or a
standalone OS. Right now, the only way to get MCE is to buy a pre-built pc.
They're releasing the Media Center Extenders (standalone and xbox versions)
in the next couple of months, and they stated publicly that they know they
need to open the software up to more people if they are going to make any
headway in the market. Now if they support the new ATI HDTV tuner card,
it'll be a HTPC match made in heaven...but we all know even MS doesn't
always know what's best for themselves, or their customers.

Subject: Freeware DVR programs
Can someone recommend a freeware DVR program that will work with an
ATI TV Tuner? I _finally_ got my TV tuner to record (view had worked
great, record never had), but the interface is .... icky. So I'd love
to use another program if at all possible.
