I remember back in the day (1980's) when I was in middle/high school and we would respond to our teachers with sir/ma'am. And this was in public school (Comfort, Texas), mind you. We didn't do this because we had to, we did it out of respect. Do kids still do this in school? I don't have any kids (that I know of), so I'm kinda out of the loop with that stuff.

Most women I know don't particularly like those words. BTW, being conservative has nothing really to do with it. It's being raised in the manner in which I was raised (very Irish Catholic). People in my office kinda make fun of me because I call everyone sir/ma'am. It had its upsides though. I can drink like a fish! :) Respectfully, Michael ----- Original Message ----- From: "Benjamin Falloon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2001 1:22 PM Subject: Re: Dark Humour > > There's a stereotype about African-American males and the size of > > their...uh...unit?
