solidly, every day, for the past year and a half now.
For what you need a laptop for, it sounds like any of the choices you
mentioned would be good. I'm not a total tech head so I can't give you
tips on which one performs better internally ... But I think as long as
you can upgrade the memory, and perhaps the hard-drive, then any of them
are going to suit your basic needs.
They really make the machines full featured these days. So if you aren't
doing any development on them, even the basic model will liekly do what
you need.
Nice extras would be built in wireless or at least a PCMIA slot for a
wireless card. Also your usual assortment of usb, serial, firewire, etc,
holes and stuff. :D
Oh! And you really should spring for the accidental breakage coverage.
It's TOTALLY worth it IMHO ... We needed it for Phil's laptop when the
screen got broke on a plane somewhere ... Dell came to the house and
replaced it in like 24 hours.
